BABOOSIC LAKE ASSOCIATION

Please be sure to steer clear of all buoys on the lake, including those that are being used to monitor lake health.

We ask that all boaters (and especially those who enjoy fishing) be aware of our buoy system to identify suspected milfoil or invasive plants. If you see a YELLOW buoy, it means it's been marked but not removed yet. Please steer clear of the area near any yellow buoys and do not touch or move them. If you see a RED buoy, milfoil has been pulled and removed from this area but you should still stay away.

Don't forget that all boat traffic on the lake should go COUNTER-CLOCKWISE.

This website is designed to acquaint you with our Association and to provide timely information on BLA events. Baboosic Lake is 222 acres and located primarily in the town of Amherst, although many homes along the east side are in Merrimack. There are no public boat launches on the lake, but the Town of Amherst beach rents kayaks and paddle boards.

The purpose of this association is to:

To educate the public on the care, quality and preservation of Baboosic Lake and the surrounding watershed.
To educate the public on invasive species prevention.
To educate the public on boater safety and monitor safety on the lake.
To educate responsible individuals on proper water quality testing techniques.
To assist and protect the citizens using the lake by funding and performing water testing and publishing alerts if any unsafe conditions are found.
To protect, preserve and improve the quality of Baboosic Lake and the surrounding watershed.
To nominate a minimum of one charitable organization annually to make a donation in the name of the Baboosic Lake Association.
